As a high-schooler, I used to play a tabletop board game called Battletech with friends. They made it into a Commodore 64 game which I had completely forgotten about until a conversation I had on Twitter sparked a memory. Today I tried loading it on my 64, but couldn't get the system to recognize the disk images. I was able to successfully get it running on the VICE emulator on my Mac at home. Here are some snapshots of me playing it, trying to figure my way around.

I was hooked on this one, as a kid (never played the tabletop). I tried to play it in emulation but wasn't as enthused. Hey, everything can't hold up. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved this game on my old PC when I was a kid. I got all the way to the end but I didn't have the manual so I wasn't able to complete it. I might just have to go and play it again...
ReplyDeleteOut of all the RPGs I had on the C64, this was the only one I completed. I think that was due in part that you could stumble accross the 'end' zone on the overworld map. Was a really cool game, I still have it complete w/ box, manuals, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try and finish it as well. However, I can't get it to run on my original hardware and when I use the Stella Adapter in VICE the down direction doesn't work. I am going to try and get a gamepad for my Mac and try that out.
